What we are looking for
Bude Climate Partnership is seeking to employ a full-time Sustainable Tourism Manager to help us deliver an innovative and ground-breaking project in the wider Bude area.
Working as part of our National Lottery-funded Resilient Bude project, the role’s primary purpose is to build Bude’s resilience against the uncertainties of a fast-changing climate by making the area the UK’s leading sustainable tourism destination.
It involves creating a self-supporting, climate-resilient visitor-sector network that makes a feature of regenerative, balanced tourism to benefit our local environment, our community and our economy.
This exciting opportunity to shape our area’s future through this trailblazing project needs someone who is flexible, collaborative, inventive, passionate about helping their community, and committed to making a lasting contribution to addressing climate change.
As well as relevant qualifications, or equivalent professional experience, you’ll need to be adaptable, innovative and strategic with excellent interpersonal skills, for listening, imagining, sympathising, encouraging and generally lighting a fire in the bellies of all you meet and support.
Collaborating with Bude Area Tourist Board, and drawing on support from CoAST, Exeter University, the National Trust and other BCP staff, you will deliver our sustainable tourism strategy to all our local businesses, residents and visitors so that it can act as an agenda-setting exemplar to other coastal communities.
This is a full-time role, open to flexible working arrangements, whether a job share, flexitime or splitting the working week between home and our offices in Bude, or some other agreed arrangement.
